Question: In one of your responses regarding Intermittent Explosive Disorder (IED), you mentioned that you suspected the IED to be a sub-ictal epileptiform disorder. This past week I experienced a rage episode that was marked by a period of incontinence and slight memory loss. I have experienced this type of episode probably 6-8 times in my life but never with the incontinence...    Dr. Pies' Answer

Question: I am interested in more information on the Limb Movement Disorders. I sleep on average about 2 hours a night and am exhausted most of the time. I do not nap, drink caffeine and only go to bed when I feel sleepy. I take Mirapex because I have restless legs and it helps some; however, the movement is not limited to just my legs, which seems to be getting worse. Are there any medications, other than what I am taking, that may help me sleep? Can you elaborate on limb movement as a cause of insomnia?    Dr. Pies' Answer

Question: My fiancé has had bipolar disorder since he was 25 years old. He is now 46. Though late in life (I am 44), we are planning to get married and have children. Question: I am interested in getting an older adult into a treatment program for alcohol abuse at her HMO. However, I am concerned that she will feel out of place in a treatment setting where there are lots of younger adults. Do you think she would benefit from such a program? Is there any research that would address this issue?    Dr. Pies' Answer
